Moving Crusher from Railroad to Truck

Moving Crusher from Railroad to Truck

Here’s a new crusher being delivered by the Acadia Dock and Terminal System’s heavy tank engine to an earthmoving contractor. Before large cranes like this were available truckloads of wood cribbing and many men would have blocked the flatcar and constructed a ramp down to the lowbed trailer.
The 3900T Manitowoc truck crane was introduced in 1963 and is capable of lifting this 50 ton load at a 30’ radius. More info on the availability of this as a kit can be gained by sending me an email or making a phone call.
These pictures show an Autocar U-90 stake body to handle the heavy tools, another Autocar, a C-100 pulling a flat bed trailer with blocking, and then there’s an old bus bringing smaller tools and rigging parts to the site.
A new custom built 8x4 “twin steer” Autocar is pulling a 90 ton beam type lowbed (#95049) ready to haul the crusher (#85047) to the quarry (more pictures to follow shortly)
